  14.  The power drive world championship comprises 48 individual stages in eight
  15.  countries. Each round is characterised by varied racing conditions to test
  16.  your driving ability to the limit.

  62.  THE CHALLENGE

  64.  Your ultimate challenge is to complete the entiree championships driving
  65.  the most powerful group 1 car. Before starting out you will be given enough
  66.  funds to buy a group N car. By consistently finishing events to boost your
  67.  funds, you can trade-in for an upgraded model, but you will needd to save
  68.  some for entry fees and vehicle mainttenance.

  102.  PENDULUM TURN
  103.  
  104.  On a tight bend steer away from the corner and the turn into it at the 
  105.  critical point. The back end of your car will swing out as the rear wheels
  106.  lose grip, allowing you to keep up maximum revs. This method requires a lot
  107.  of practice to pefect.
  108.  
  109.  HANDBRAKE TURN
  110.  
  111.  At a hairpin corner, brake as you turn into the curve. All four wheels will
  112.  lose grip and you should skid around the hairpin on the best possible line.
  113.  
  114.  POWERSLIDE
  115.  
  116.  Skid around series of tight or fast corners by steering sharply into each 
  117.  bend (like a pendulum turn without steering out).
  118.  
  119.  PASSWORD 
  120.  
  121.  In a one-player mode you will be given a password at the end of the stage
  122.  in each round. If your password is illegal you will return to the MAIN MENU.

  124.  PRACTICE.
  125.  
  126.  It is recommended that tou fine tune your driving skills on the practice 
  127.  track before starting the first race.
  128.  
  129.  Move left/right to pick a course (day, night, or snow/ice) and a car and 
  130.  press ACCELERATATE to confirm. When you feel good enough to go on (there is
  131.  no time limit) stop the car in the exit box at the bottom of the right hand 
  132.  track or press ESC.

  141.  ONE PLAYER GAME

  143.  During the standard one player game, if you fail to make the quilification 
  144.  time for the event you will not proceed to the next stage. If you dont 
  145.  qualify, keep trying intil you either make the grade or run out of funds.

  147.  MULTI PLAYER GAME

  149.  Complete against your friends for the championship title. Unlike the one 
  150.  player game, failure to quilify doesent stop you racing in the next round,
  151.  but you will not pick up any points or prize money for that stage.

  167.  Six cars are availible, from three competion classes. Each handles
  168.  differently cornering road holding ect and higher class vehicles are more
  169.  expensive to maintain.

  186.  SELECTING YOUR FIRST CAR

  188.  You start off with 28,000 enough to buy a group N car. Move left/right to
  189.  toggle between the mini and the fiat, and up/down to change the body colour.
  190.  When you are satisfied, press ACCELERATE to purchase your car.

  192.  DAMAGE 
  193.  
  194.  Rally cars are tough but rally tracks are tougher. Damage is sustained when
  195.  you crash or drive recklessly, causing of your car to deteriorate. You can
  196.  make repairs at the end of each stage if you have enough funds
  197.  
  198.  DAMAGE REPAIRS
  199.  
  200.  To maintain your car , move up/down to choose a component and press
  201.  ACCELERATE to parttially repair. To repair in full press SPACE BAR. When you
  202.  are happy with the condition of your car or you are out of funds move the
  203.  repair indicator to complete your component check.
  204.  Note: the state of your vehicle will affect its perfomance, so it is
  205.  advisable to keep your car in prime condition if funds are avalible.

  207.  UPGRADING YOUR CAR
  208.  
  209.  If you save enough funds you can upgrade your car: Group 2 cars can be brough
  210.  from round 3, group 1 cars can be brough from round 6. When you have
  211.  sufficent funds select/purchase new car will apear on the damage repair 
  212.  screen. If you wish to buy a new car move to this option and press fire.
  213.  Choose your new car by the same procedure used to select your first and
  214.  press ACCELERATE to continue.

  216.  LOCATION
  217.  
  218.  Before each race you are presented with a location screen, displaying 
  219.  weather conditions, day/night and the enterance fee. If you dont have
  220.  enough funds to cover the fee, your game is over and you will return to
  221.  the main menu. If you do have sufficent funds, press ACCELERATE to start
  222.  the race.

  226.  Pick ups are randomly placed around each course, to be collected by
  227.  driving over them.

  247.  Climatic conditions and the time of day vary dramatically from race to race
  248.  affecting car handling and speed. You will need to take note of these 
  249.  conditions and adjust your driving accordingly.

  251.  STAGE RESULTS

  253.  At the end of each course the stage results screen will be displayed. 
  254.  Prize money is awarded when you qualify, plus bonuses if you break the
  255.  course record or beat the computer-controlled car on rally cross sections.

  260.  If you go all the way and win all the 48 stages you will be crowned power
